ask me   about

B is for Bergmark. I'm a writer of novels (coauthor of The Engelsfors Trilogy with matsstrandbergauthor), comics & screenplays. More on that under "About". I post and reblog things that inspire me. Some of them have to do with me and my writing, trees, Twin Peaks, space, Buffy, classic films and abandoned places. If you ask me something, I'll try to answer. PS If you want me to answer privately, let me know!

"Sleep heavily and know that I am here with you. The past is gone, and cannot harm you anymore. And while the future is fast coming for you, it always flinches first, and settles in as the gentle present. This now, this us, we can cope with that. We can do this together you and I."

theauthoressdefiant asked: (cont.) writing process? If you don't want to I completely understand, but here they are in case you do: 1) When and why did you first start writing, and what drew you to it? 2) Do you have a routine/process for writing? What is it? 3) Do you prefer collaborating on a project or writing alone? 4) Have you ever heard of NaNoWriMo? What do you think of it? AND end questions! Thank you SO much for reading this Also, I love your taste in pop culture; Buffy is great. Much love, theauthoressdefiant

(cont.) 1) I’ve been writing, or at least attempting to write, stories ever since I learned how at a young age. I loved books and reading, and I wanted to tell stories myself.

2) I’ve been so busy writing the Engelsfors books and other projects so the routine has been a very chaotic “get the job done” = work 24/7. Perhaps I will be able to find a routine someday. We’ll see.

3. I can’t really choose, because I need both.  I enjoy writing on my own, but the collaborations give me so much energy, and make me a better writer - and person. I’m very much of an ambivert (leaning toward introvert).

4) Yes, definitely. It seems to be a great way for people to give themselves space to focus on their writer. Also, I can see how it adds a spirit of community, and make people feel less lonely in their process. I haven’t tried it myself though and at this point it wouldn’t work since I’ve got too many projects going on.

The best of luck to you with your novel and your project!

Lots of love,

PS Here is a FAQ that may or may not be of use to you.

theauthoressdefiant asked: Hi, Ms. Elfgren! I'm a 10th grader at an IB school in the US. One of our school's grading criterion is a huge, year-long project that we choose; I chose to vlog as I do National Novel Writing Month, then creating a podcast-like version of my (hopefully) finished novel. It's an important part of the project to establish global context. I love Engelsfors and I can't wait to read more of your work. Would you be willing to answer some questions I have about your (cont. in another ask)

Hi there!

Thank you, I’m so glad that you enjoy Engelsfors. :) Sure! (to be continued)
